A Very Early Morning at Penmaen Burrows and Three Cliffs Bay

A couple of weeks ago, I set the alarm for 3:30am! It may sound early but, as it happened, I was awake from 3am thanks to someone’s dog barking incessantly for half an hour… I left the house just before 4am and drove through the very quiet streets of Pontardawe and Swansea to Penmaen, where I parked and walked out onto the cliffs. I’d had a One to One workshop the previous Friday and had ……

Langland Bay

At the beginning of the month, I set the alarm early and headed out to Langland Bay for sunrise. The position of the sun meant I couldn’t go for the angle I wanted, so instead I headed out to Snaple Point. There was a smattering of sea thrift around, but not swathes of it unfortunately. A Visit to Saltash

Over Easter we drove back to Saltash to visit family for the Easter weekend. I made sure I used the time to take some new photos of the area. This photo was taken the morning before we left – perhaps one of the easier photos as the camera was in the conservatory and a cup of tea was nearby!

Coombe Viaduct, Tamar Bridge and Royal Albert Bridge (aka Brunel ……

Llyn y Fan Fawr Sunrise

On Monday evening I checked the weather forecast and it looked good. The BBC cloud cover prediction was showing 0% cloud cover and the Met Office mountain forecast for the Brecon Beacons was showing a low chance of mist on the peaks but otherwise clear. My plan was to climb to the top of Fan Brycheiniog and look down onto Llyn y Fan Fawr for sunrise. I set the alarm for 4am and started walking ……
