Drunk on Sunlight

The Most Amazing Sunset Ever at Rhossili, Gower

I hadn’t really checked the weather forecast but knew it would be cloudy around sunset so didn’t really expect to see anything when we went to Rhossili yesterday. When I got to the car park, the sun was behind the edge of a very large cloud bank. I walked as quickly as I could down to the cliffs and managed to see the rays of the sun peaking out from behind the clouds and was ……

A Breath of Fresh Air

Worms Head, Rhossili Bay, Gower

It has been quite some time since I last posted a blog and so much has happened. We have been to lots of events such as the Wales National Airshow, the Gower Chilli Festival and also regularly attend the Uplands Market and the Marina Market every month. We have the Gower Show tomorrow and the Brecon Summer Fayre later this month. We also recently moved house which took us far longer than we expected and ……

My First Visit to Fan Nedd

The View from Fan Nedd with Corn Du and Pen y Fan in the distance

It has been a very busy time recently with continuing sorting out my Uncle’s estate, an exhibition, fulfilling orders from my website and my sister’s wedding in France. It means that I haven’t been able to get out since April to take any new photos, but this week I have finally been out – not once, but twice with a possible third time this evening! I have never been to Fan Nedd before, so decided ……

An Epic Rhossili Sunset

Worms Head, Rhossili Bay

A couple of weeks ago I led a Landscape Photography Workshop at Rhossili. The forecast was interesting and we did have a very long rain shower, but there was sun and we were blessed with wonderful lighting conditions! For sunset, we decided to climb Rhossili Down and photograph the bay from above. The clouds were absolutely amazing – some of the best I’ve ever seen! This, for me, has to be my photo of the ……

Oxwich Bay

A few weeks ago, I took a trip out to Penmaen Burrows to overlook Oxwich Bay for sunset with Emma. Before leaving, I inspected the area using the Google satellite images and spotted a likely looking location to photograph Oxwich Bay from. When we got there, it wasn’t obvious where that spot was but there was what looked like an animal track leading out to the cliff edge. Curious, I walked along it and was ……

Sunset at Rhossili Bay and Worms Head

Worms Head and Rhossili

A few weeks ago, I ran a Landscape Photography Workshop that ended up at Rhossili Down. Whilst there, I spotted a great patch of wild flowers so at the next possible opportunity, I headed out there for sunset. When I got there, though, I was a little disappointed to find livestock have pooed all over it! Luckily, there were other wild flowers nearby so I set the camera up and waited. I really wanted the ……

Three Cliffs Bay from Pennard

One evening last week, I met up with Emma Jones (who joins me at my exhibitions) at Southgate. When we arrived, it was raining heavily but the sun was out and lighting up the landscape beautifully. The rain stopped and the sun went in for the rest of the evening, but we headed out anyway. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, I’m still pleased with what I photographed:

Pobbles Beach and Three Cliffs Bay

We then climbed ……
