Bioluminescent Plankton

Bioluminescent Plankton at Aberavon, Wales

With all the bioluminescence that has been happening on the South Wales coastline recently, it meant we just had to get out and see it for ourselves. It had been seen on Oxwich Bay on Friday night, so Saturday night saw us at Oxwich Bay waiting for the magic to happen. But nothing happened…. There were a lot of disappointed people. As I came back to the car from checking out the water, a car ……

This Photo was Taken with Pain

Mewslade Bay, Gower

There are times when you have to suffer a little for your art and Sunday was one such day. We took a family trip to Mewslade Bay and I, of course, took my camera with me. When we got there it was overcast but we could see that the sun would soon be coming out. Sure enough it did and I took a few photos. However, I couldn’t quite get the angle I wanted. The ……

Four Beaches in One Day

Caswell Bay

It was without any planning or warning that we took the day off work yesterday. Well, I say day off, we took the day off from work to work. Instead of opening the shop, we drove down to Oxwich Bay – Oxwich is a difficult beach to photograph and one we get asked for all the time so we decided to see what we could do. An Early Start at Langland Bay

Langland Bay

I took several shots trying to get the wave just right, a sort of hit and miss affair.

Langland ……

The Milky Way at Tears Point on Gower

The Milky Way from Tears Point

Last week I ran a One to One Workshop on Gower at Penmaen Burrows and Three Cliffs Bay. We finished after sunset and just 20 minutes later, Venus was very visible in the bright sky so I knew it was going to be a good night for astrophotography! After the client left to go home, I drove to Rhossili and walked along the cliffs towards Tears Point. The Milky Way is particularly good in the ……

Sunrise at Brandy Cove

Brandy Cove

It has been a long time since I’ve been out for proper photography, but this morning I headed out to Caswell Bay to meet up with Mark who I met on Facebook and Flickr. We’ve met before at my exhibitions but this was the first time out taking photos. Landscape Photography is a lonely business, often working alone, so it’s always nice to meet up with people. From Caswell, we walked the coast path to ……

Caswell Bay and Mewslade Bay

I haven’t updated this blog for a while, mainly as I haven’t had much news for a while as I’ve been recovering from a chest infection. I’m pleased to say that I have now fully recovered! However, I did manage to get out a couple of times whilst I was unwell, once to Caswell Bay and another to Mewslade Bay. I probably shouldn’t have gone to Caswell when I did as the climb up the ……
