Whilst there, I spotted a great patch of wild flowers so at the next possible opportunity, I headed out there for sunset. Whiteford Sands

A few weeks ago, I went out to Whiteford Sands with Emma Jones. We were hoping for a spectacular sunset but were let down. On the walk out, we spotted some periwinkles that had been exposed by a low tide and had been crawling along the sand – see Emma’s blog post for photos. Whilst she was photographing the periwinkles, I spotted a small patch of barnacles.

A Very Early Morning at Penmaen Burrows and Three Cliffs Bay

A couple of weeks ago, I set the alarm for 3:30am! It may sound early but, as it happened, I was awake from 3am thanks to someone’s dog barking incessantly for half an hour… I left the house just before 4am and drove through the very quiet streets of Pontardawe and Swansea to Penmaen, where I parked and walked out onto the cliffs. The Afon Mellte

Yesterday, I thought I would take a trip to the waterfalls near Ystradfellte. I arrived just before 9am so had the place to myself, which was nice. I normally walk along the path to get to the waterfalls without stopping, but this time I saw this view and stopped for a while.
