Cefn Cyff and Brecon from Fan y Big

Following on from the previous blog post, here is another photo. By now, the moon had risen and was high in the sky. It is amazing how much light the moon produces! It was bright enough for me to cast a shadow! After I had finished at my first location, I walked back to Fan y Big. The wind was pretty strong at the summit so I decided not to post on the ‘diving board’ as planned because it would have been too dangerous. Instead, I turned the camera to look down the ridge to the town of Brecon. The bright orange glow is the lights from Brecon reflecting on the low cloud, lighting it up. The landscape is lit by the moon.

Afterwards, I spent a bit of time on Stellarium identifying the constellations. It was made easier because the moon had ‘washed out’ the dimmer ones.

An excellent image … great composition and I love the effect of what looks like it maybe moonlight lighting up the side of the hill. I think that this image would look amazing in a large size :-)
