Infrared on Moel Gornach

The wet weather has finally broken so, being half term and my wife working, I took my two children (2yrs and 5yrs) for a walk in the Brecon Beacons. We walked a short 1.5 miles and ascended 135m to have morning snack at 616m asl on the summit of Moel Gornach. The children were brilliant and enjoyed every second of the walk. I even managed to get some photography in using my Infrared camera. This first photo was taken shortly after we started – the cloud in the valley below looked spectacular!

Even my daughter took some photos with her 2 megapixel camera! We carried on the walk, finding someone’s time capsule along the way, and stopped to eat a gingerbread duck and a gingerbread car in the summit shelter. Whilst they were have their well-deserved rest, I tried some Infrared photos of the summit cairn.

I’ve never found it easy to take black and white photos, but using Infrared has opened up a whole new genre for me!
