Sunset on the Pen y Fan Massif

Last night, I decided to head out to the Brecon Beacons to see what sunset would offer. It took me just under an hour’s walking to reach the spot I wanted. I quickly put a couple of fleeces on as it was so cold, set up the tripod and camera and shot a couple of panoramas – I’ve been trying to get a good panorama from this spot for a while. After the 2 panoramas, the sun disappeared behind clouds and the moment was gone.

Once the sun had vanished for the evening, I turned the other way and got very cold in the wind. I was glad I’d bought my woolly hat but really could have done with gloves too. This is the cloud bank that was guilty of hiding the sun…

Both really good images … for some reason the first image is more appealing to me … although both have their own individual appeal. You certainly caught the moment … so peaceful and serene.
