Back in August, I posted a blog entry that showed 16 macro shots of fruit and veg that we’ve grown in our garden – a personal project to shoot everything edible that we grow during 2010 with the aim to make a set of 10×10″ canvases to put on the conservatory wall. Many things have finished growing now so I’ve redone the mosaic and added another 14 photos! And there are still more to come – leeks, parsnips, pink banana squash and another squash that I’m not sure what it is…

Sunset on the Pen y Fan Massif
Last night, I decided to head out to the Brecon Beacons to see what sunset would offer. It took me just under an hour’s walking to reach the spot I wanted. I quickly put a couple of fleeces on as it was so cold, set up the tripod and camera and shot a couple of panoramas – I’ve been trying to get a good panorama from this spot for a while. After the 2 panoramas, the sun disappeared behind clouds and the moment was gone.
Once the sun had vanished for the evening, I turned the other way and got very cold in the wind. I was glad I’d bought my woolly hat but really could have done with gloves too. This is the cloud bank that was guilty of hiding the sun…

Can Black and White Rescue a Photo?
Earlier in the summer, we went for a walk along Rhossili when I spotted a clump of flowers so whilst everyone else carried on walking, I took a couple of photos. The weather wasn’t great and the lighting flat so the resultant colour image wasn’t great. In an attempt to get a usable photo I tried converting it to black and white.

I think I prefer the black and white conversion. Any comments on which you prefer gratefully received :-)

Godrevy Lighthouse
I spent the first 25 years of my life living in Cornwall, but when you live somewhere you often don’t appreciate or even know what’s around you. Whilst visiting family, I wanted to take a trip into deepest, darkest Cornwall to get some photos of the Cornish coast so I poured over the map in true Famous Five fashion and found a lighthouse on an island. A Google search found some photos, some of which were very impressive! My parents who have lived in Cornwall since I was born, so 34 years now, had also never been there or even heard of it! So we set off to see Godrevy Lighthouse…
After visiting a few quoits in the area, we did a quick recce of the area.
After a meal at a local pub, we headed back for sunset.

Search Engine Listing
For some peculiar reason, my parents’ website will not get listed on any search engines despite several attempts, so maybe if I put a link here then it will help. You never know… Here’s the website: www.santillo.me.uk.
