And Now For the Bit Between Christmas and New Year

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas break. We got over the sickness bug that Willow gave us just in time. Following the success of free postage in the run up to Christmas, I have decided to now offer free postage on all orders over £5 from now on. There is a small £1 charge for all orders of £5 and below.

My 2010 calendars have proved to be very popular and I’ve sold out of the Brecon Beacons one. I believe there are a couple left in the Pontardawe Post Office and Inspirations. I still have some Gower calendars and Saltash calendars left which are available to buy with free postage. See here.

And following some investigation into MySQL when I was bored at the end of Christmas Day, I shall be adding an exciting new couple of features to make it even easier for you to buy photos. Firstly there will be a search facility to search through my database of photos and secondly, the gallery and buy pages will be linked together better and thirdly, the buy page will change radically to make it easier to narrow down what you see (e.g. all Gower photos, all Brecon coasters, all greetings cards, etc.) You might have to wait a couple of months, but it will be done :-)

Snowy Pontardawe

The exhibition went quite well, but Sunday wasn’t great as only about 8 people came in – Friday and Saturday were fairly busy though. I’ve now sold out of the Brecon Beacons calendars! There are still a few Saltash ones and Gower ones left though.

It snowed last night so I went out at 5am to photograph the Christmas lights in the snow. I quite like driving in the snow as it requires skill that isn’t normally used. However, some drivers drive very dangerously – this morning I was driving on slush, ice and virgin snow so was trundling along at 15mph – it was uphill too and in a 30mph limit, so my speed was just about right for the conditions. A car sized van was driving so close behind that I couldn’t see his headlights! In ice and snow! It was 5:30am! People like that cause accidents and are a large part of the reason why Britain grinds to a halt when it snows. Anyway, rant over, here is a photo from this morning:

Later on, I went out for a walk with Willow in the push chair to take some more photos. I would have processed more if it wasn’t that my Work in Progress is dying and I spent ages trying to sort it out. Here’s Pontardawe from the hill towards Alltwen.

Exhibition, 18-20th Dec, Ostreme Centre in Mumbles

Finally, Out For Sunrise!

Well, I finally managed to get out to take some new photos. I got up at 5:20am, left the house at 5:40am and took 10 mins scraping horrible ice off the car. I then walked for just over an hour to the summit of Corn Du in the Brecon Beacons. My rucksack started to get frosty! I was disappointed at the forecast the Met Office provided. They stated there would be valley mist only, but the summits were engulfed in a thick fog – admittedly boiling up from the valley below, but still disappointing. Instead, I dropped lower and shot a panorama of the Carmarthen Fan. It looks fantastic printed out and will be on sale at the Brecon Craft Fair tomorrow.
