Dan Santillo was born in Plymouth in 1976 and spent his first 25 years living
in Cornwall with easy access to Dartmoor and the awe-inspiring Cornish coastline.
His interest in photography started at the age of 12 when he received a bright
red Konica point and shoot 35mm camera for his birthday. With the advent of
digital photography, his interest soon became an obsession after the purchase
of his first digital SLR in 2002. His passion for the outdoors and hiking soon
led him to pursue a career as a Freelance Photographer and Writer. Now living
in Pontardawe, Swansea, he can often be found wandering around the Brecon Beacons
waiting for the sun to rise.
He gained Runner Up for the Perfect Portrait section of the Cats Protection
League 2002 Photographic Competition, won Album Of The Month on globosapiens.net
travel site (January 2004) and has been published in Amateur Photographer,
Travel Girl, Outdoor Adventure Guide, Practical Photography, Camping, Country
Quest, Country Walking and Freelance Photography Made Easy. In early 2005 he held a photo exhibition entitled Perfect Light raising
money for Mencap. Dan also has prints for sale in local shops in Saltash and Swansea.
